Hey bubs and bubbettes!
Long time no blog! Sorry, been travelin’ and workin.’ We’ve all been through a tough year and for those of you still struggling, keep the hope alive and stay focused on your goals! Now take a breath, regroup and take a step toward those goals today.
Ok enough with the Tony Robbins schpiel. Had to say it, because I care.
So 2009 was a year of getting out there and meeting a lot of you in places I’ve never been. Thanks to all of you who came to see me at the cons. I love to see you guys in person and hear what’s on your minds! I’ll be doing a lot more of that next year, so grab your costumes and your friends and come see me in a city near you in 2010!
So, no news on the next season of Wolverine and the X-Men yet. We’re all holding our breath. Marvel and Nicktoons need to hear from you guys if you want it to continue! Same for Spectacular Spiderman. WE NEED to get these shows back on the air!
Super Hero Squad HAS been picked up and we’ll be in full record mode after the first of the year. If you haven’t seen it - check it out. It’s funny and weird and has a gigantic, magnificent cast. I know, it’s scaled for the younger set, but there are some very cool Marvel-ous nuggets strewn through the show that’ll be like a treasure hunt for the most hardcore fans, so tune in to Cartoon Network - it’s playin’ all the time!
Working on a ton of new games that I can’t talk about yet, but you can check out DragonAge (I’m Oghren, the farting, belching, vomiting, happy dwarf), Also pick up Mass Effect 2. Beautiful game! I’m Grunt in that one. Love that guy! He has issues, just like me!
I played some minor roles in Uncharted 2. Game of the year on the Spike TV game awards baby!! Congrats to my pal Nolan North, our Director Gordon Hunt and the rest of the cast and creators for an amazing game.
What else this year… Oh yeah! Batman Arkham Asylum! Holy (gaming) hand cramp! Is that one cool or what?! I was the lovely and shy Killer Croc!
We also had Ratchet and Clank: a Crack in Time (so great!), Wolvie returned in UA 2 (Snikt!) Force Unleashed did the Ultimate Sith Edition where I got killed again.. and again… and again as StormTroopers 1-23,810. Bionic Commando’s Super Joe!! Go Joe! Transformers Revenge of the Fallen, Madworld - as “Just Jack” wow - was that gnarly or what? Fusion Fall (love that) and so many more…
Ok, so that’s what I’ve been doin’ lately. Gonna shut down and retool for the new year. Love you guys! Happy, healthy and abundant holidays to you all!
Steve
If you missed this one, you really missed a treat!! An incredible array of VoiceActors from the cast of The Spectacular Spiderman showed up for a raucous roundtable of Q&A. We were joined by the magnificent Greg Weisman (Supervising producer, story editor, writer, co-creator) and our brilliant (and very funny!) voice director Jamie Thomason. After, we were joined onstage by some of the original cast of Gargoyles and some very talented fans for a live radioplay. Greg wrote an original script blending the Spiderman and Gargoyles universes with tons of hilarious inside jokes and references (many of which, I’ll admit I didn’t get - but thankfully the audience did!). Despite a cast of 31 players, it came off almost flawlessly! Huge thanks to Greg, Jamie and all of my sick talented colleagues - and of course the fans and staff from the Gathering for a night I’ll never forget!
Hey guys -
Just returned from the 2009 San Diego Comic Con. What a mesmerizing mass of merchandise! My brain’s still shaking!
So great to meet so many of you! Was a pile o’ fun! Come on out to the cons and say hello, guys. Hopefully I’ll be in a city near you soon!
I participated in the Marvel Animation panel where my buddies at Marvel laid out the upcoming schedule for the next year. Also did some teasing on new episodes of “Wolverine and the X-Men” and what season 2 has in store. Crazy cool stuff coming! They even announced a season 2 appearance of one of my favorite characters (Deadpool!!! - played to perfection by my incredibly gifted pal Nolan North in Hulk Vs Wolverine (The DVD)). Followed that up with a poster signing at the Marvel booth with our brilliant directors, Jamie Simone and Steven Gordon, and some of our amazing cast, writers, artists and producers!
On Saturday, members of the Super Hero Squad cast showed up for a panel where we truly put the fun in dysfunction! We did a live skit crafted just for the con, then showed clips from the show itself, followed by some Q&A. After, we all migrated to the Marvel Booth for signings, giveaways and amplified banter between the squaddies. The show’s gonna premiere Sept. 19 on Cartoon Network, so ya’ll toon in, ya hear!? It’s sick funny and like nothing you’ve ever seen before.
